Exodus
7:1-10:23
Aaron throws
down his rod before the Pharoah
and it
turns into a snake.
Then
the LORD told Moses
and Aaron that when
the Pharaoh speaks to you and asks you to show a miracle for
yourselves, then
you shall tell Aaron to take your rod and cast it before Pharaoh, and
let it become a serpent.
Moses and Aaron went into see the Pharaoh, and they did what the
LORD commanded. When Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and
his servants the rod became a serpent.
Aaron's snake
eats the magician's snakes.
Pharaoh
then called his wise men and the sorcerers; and the
magicians of Egypt, and they were able to do the same thing with their
enchantments. They all
threw down their rods, and they became serpents. But Aaron’s rod
swallowed up their rods
The
Pharoah refuses to let God's people go.
The Pharaoh’s heart grew harder, and he did
not pay attention to them. Pharaoh was not
listening to what God had told him.
So the LORD told Moses to go to Pharaoh in the morning and
stand by the river bank to meet him. He was to take the rod which was
had turned into a serpent and tell him that The LORD God of the Hebrews
had sent him and to ask him to let His people go, that they may serve
Him in the
wilderness. By this he would
know that He was the LORD and that He would strike the
waters that were in the river with the rod, and the river shall
be turned to blood.
The fish in
the river would die, and the river would smell. The Egyptians
would not want to drink the water of the river. either.

The Lord tells
Moses to have Aaron stretch his rod
over the waters
and all the waters turned to blood.
This was the
first plague God sent upon Egypt.
Then the LORD told
Moses to tell Aaron to take his rod and stretch it out over the
waters of Egypt. This included their streams, rivers,
ponds, and all their pools of water. They would all become blood
even buckets and pitchers of water. Moses and Aaron did as the
LORD commanded. So he lifted up the rod and struck the waters that were
in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and his servants.
All the waters were turned to blood. The fish that were
in the river died, the river smelled, and the Egyptians could not drink
the water of the river. There was blood over all the land of
Egypt.
Again
the magicians of Egypt did the same thing with their enchantments
so Pharaoh’s
heart grew harder. He did not pay attention to them.
So all the Egyptians dug around the
river for water to drink. Seven days went
by after the LORD had struck the river.
