Answers

  1. Where did God come from?

    God's people have always understood that God was eternal (everlasting) and He was there at creation (Genesis 1:1).  He called Himself  "I AM"  to Moses (Exodus 3:14).  God also said in Revelations 22:13, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.".  God has always existed.[Back to the top]

  2. How do we know there is a God?

    We can know that there is a God from the things around us.  Our houses, cars, toys, and many other things we buy from stores were made (created) by other men.  Someone had to make these things we use in our daily lives. The earth, trees, plants, flowers, animals, sun, moon, stars are so beautifully made that we can know that there is someone who created them who is much wiser and smarter than we are.  The proof of God's existence we can see in these things.  There is no way that the heavens and this earth could be an accident.  Our bodies are the most wonderful creation. No human has been able to  create another human from nothing. But only a supreme God could create us with the ability to think, talk, walk, eat, have children and do many other things. No other thing could replace the creator but a supreme and almighty God. (Romans 1:18-20) [Back to the top]

  3. Who is Jesus?

  4. What is sin?

    Sin is when we disobey God.  It is doing what God does not want us to do. God is Love and he also cannot lie.  When we do something to others that is not acting in Love toward them, we not only hurt them but also God feels bad.  We can also sin against God when we don't put Him first in our lives, say things against God,  worship something else other than God, or when we lie,  we are  disobeying God.  Satan is the Father of lies. God cannot be in the presence of sin, so sin separates us from God. A sin can be something we do that hurts someone or it can be something we don't do that we should of done.  There are many ways we can sin.  Lying, stealing, cheating, murder, and greed, are some of the ways in which we can sin. 5. What does God want me to do?

    God has given us directions on how to live our lives in the Bible.  To know what God want us to do we must read these directions.  Without reading these directions our lives may get out of control.  II Thessalonians 1:7-9 tells us  ..... 1:7  and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,
    1:8  rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:
    1:9  who shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
      There is a warning  for us in the Bible that there is a punishment for those who don't know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord.  So read the Bible and learn more about God and how to obey the gospel of our Lord.[Back to the top]

  6. What is the gospel?
    (1Co 15:1-4)  Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,
    2

    by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain.
    3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    4  and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;

  8. What is baptism?

    The word baptism comes from the Greek word baptizo which means to be immersed.   There are many examples of baptism in the Bible.  Some of the examples show us that much water was needed.  Baptism was done to wash away sins (Act 22:16)  And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on his name. or for the forgiveness of sins.  It also puts us in the right standing with God and gives us hope of eternal life.   (1Pe 3:21)  Which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

  9. Who can be baptized?
    (John 1:12)  But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 8:24)  I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
    (John 20:31)  but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name. ( Act 19:4)  And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus.   (Romans 10:9)  because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: (1Corinthians 1:21)  For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe. (Mark 16:16)  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned.  (Act 2:38)  And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
    These scriptures show that believe is necessary before baptism and also to be able to confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord.  Repentance is also necessary and  only a person who is able to believe that Jesus is the Son of God and can confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and can repent are ready for baptism.  There are no scriptures that teach that a person can be baptized and then believe, confess or repent later.  This eliminates babies as those who should be baptized.  Jesus taught that we are to be like children.  ( Matthew 19:14)  But Jesus said, Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for to such belongeth the kingdom of heaven.

  10. What is worship?

    The act of  setting  apart, devoting or separating self for God.
    To approach , draw near,  offer, or  present self before God..   To bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly.  Acts of worship include praying to God, singing and making melody in our heart to God, reading God's Word, giving to God and remembering what God's son has done for us on the Cross thru the Lord's supper.  All these things draw us closer to God and are pleasing to Him when we worship Him the way He has instructed us to.

  11. How do we pray?

    We are given an example of how to pray in the Bible.  It is often called the Lord's prayer.  It is found in Matthew 6:10-13.
    Mat 6:9  After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
    Matthew 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
    Mat 6:11  Give us this day our daily bread.
    Mat 6:12  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
    Mat 6:13  And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
    Here Jesus teaches us how to pray.  Prayer is a way to talk to God.  We are also told to pray for one another (James 5:16)  Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working. We are also told pray  for those who rule over us.  (Ti 2:1-2)  I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;
    2:2  for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.
