A ABOMINATION: Something that makes one feel extreme disgust. A revolting thing. AFFLICT: To cause great pain and trouble. ALTAR: A platform, usually made of stone, used to burn sacrifices in worship. ANDREW : He was a fisherman and the brother of the apostle Peter. Andrew was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. (Mark 1:16; 3:14-19; John 1:40-44; Acts 1:13) ANGEL: A messenger of God. ANGER: A strong feeling of being displeased with something or someone. ANOINT: To set apart a person for a particular work or service by pouring oil on a persons head. It was also used in the New Testament as a ritual for healing the sick which was done by the elders. APOSTLE: A Greek word that means “someone who is sent of.” Jesus gave the name to the twelve men He chose as his followers. He sent them to tell the good news about him to the whole world. (Matthew 10:1-4; Mark 3:14-19; Acts 1:2-26; I Corinthians 15:8-10) ARARAT: The mountain which the ark rested on after the flood. ARK: A container keeping safe something that is valuable to God.
