Exodus
12:35-14:18

God led His people with a cloud by day.
The Pharaoh
decided to let the Israelites go after God had sent ten plagues upon
the Egyptians. The Israelites had been in the land of Egypt for
430 years. They asked the Egyptians to give them articles of
silver, gold, and clothing. The Egyptians gave the Israelites
what they asked for before they left. It was on the
night of the Passover they left Egypt. God led His people with a
cloud by day.

God led His people with a pillar of fire at night.
God
led His people with a pillar of fire
by night. God led His people through the desert toward the Red
Sea. Whenever the cloud moved, the people moved and followed
it. When the cloud stopped, the Israelites made camp and
rested. The pillar of fire provided light during the night, so
they could travel by day or by night.

The Pharaoh and his army chased
the after the Israelites.
But the Pharaoh later had a
change
of heart about letting them go. So he got his chariot ready and
took all his Egyptian army to chase
after the Israelites. He caught up with them by the sea.

God told Moses to stretch his rod over the sea.
The
Israelites were camping at the Red
Sea. They saw the Egyptians coming. They had no place to
go. Moses said, "Do not be afraid, Stand still, and
see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you
today." Moses went on and told them that the LORD would fight for
them. Then,
God told Moses to
stretch out his rod over the Red Sea.
God caused the waters to divide.
God caused the waters to go back by a
strong wind so that
there was dry land for the Israelites to cross over to the other side
safely. The Israelites then started to cross the Red Sea
the land. there was a wall of water on the right side and
on the left side of them. The pillar of cloud moved between the
Egyptians and the Israelite camps and caused darkness to one camp and
light to the other side.

The Egyptian army followed the Israelites.
After the Israelites crossed over to the other side and were safe, the
Egyptian army came along and tried to follow the Israelites across the
Red Sea. The land was dry at first, but......

God caused the waters to return.
When
the Egyptians got in the middle of the Red Sea, God troubled the army
of the Egyptians and took off their chariot wheels. They had
trouble driving their chariots and decided to run from the Israelites,
but God caused the waters
to return to normal, and the Egyptians were drowned in the Red Sea.

The Israelites were safe on the other side.
Now,
the Israelites were safe on the other side of the Red Sea and God had
saved them that day from the Egyptian army.
CONCLUSION: God had a
plan to safe His people from the Egyptians who had been cruel to
them. He had sent Moses to the Pharaoh who would not release the
Israelites until after God had sent 10 plagues upon Egypt. God
had hardened his heart. Eventually, the Pharaoh decided to let
God's people go. God hardened the Pharaoh's heart again, so that
he decided to go after the Israelites after he had let them go.
This was part of God's plan. All the Egyptian army drowned in the
Red Sea and God's people were safe in the end. God had saved His
people. In times of trouble, we should trust in the Lord to fight
for us too. He is a powerful God.
